Over the years award winning Nollywood actress Rita Dominic has carved a niche for herself in the movie industry and has never failed to deliver to her fans.


Dominic who has featured in several movies is loved by all. Despite being a movie star, she has always tried to be herself and not pretend to be who she is not. She has grown a wide fan base both home and abroad.


According to ThisDay, the 42-year-old actress disclosed that described the different forms of expression she receives from her fans. She also opened up on how one of her fans kissed her in public.

Dominic said: “Some guy many years ago, I was trying to pass and I tapped him, just trying to say ‘excuse me’ and the next thing, he does a double take when he turned his back seeing it’s me and grabs me and just plant a kiss up my lips and then he screams my name Rita Dominic! I was in shock…what was that? Then my friend just took me away from there. I’m human, I wouldn’t know, she responded laughing. The thing is, first and foremost I’m quite a polite person. It takes me a while to be pushed. It’s possible that I would have just ignored and smiled since it’s a fan and it was a reflex action. He was just excited to see me. I could have ignored it I’m sure. I found it unexpected and was in shock. I wasn’t angry. It just happened in a split of seconds and I was just out of that place. But when I think about it I actually laugh.”

Speaking on how she has managed to remain relevant in the movie industry, the red carpet slay queen disclosed that the only competition she sees is herself as she tries as much as possible to reinvent her crafts.


Rita Dominic said: “What I do is I try to be better than I was last year, I try to be better than I was two years ago and I try to be better than I was at the start of my career in terms of my acting. I look at my work from way back and I say okay maybe these are the things I’m going to do. I just constantly look for ways of immersing myself in a role. I feel like over the years when people have seen that this person has constantly been growing, automatically your relevance is there because people believe in your ability to bring a character to light. So because they believe in that your ability, they constantly want to work with you.”

A pregnant housewife, identified as  Juliet Ozoarinze, has been arrested by the Police  for allegedly torturing a 10-year-old girl, Blessing, in Ijesha, Surulere, Lagos State. The mother of four was also accused of assaulting the victim since she started living with the (Juliet’s) family in July 2017. She was alleged to have used different objects on her over allegations of being tardy in running errands, not being prompt in answering summons and practising witchcraft. The suspect’s husband, Kenneth, was reported to have returned Blessing to her aunt, Vivian, on Tuesday, October 17, after the wife allegedly used a knife to cut the 10-year-old in the hand for allegedly stealing and eating the food meant for her children.
